A NUANS (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search) report is a search tool used to check the availability of your business name in Canada. It provides a list of existing businesses or trademarks that are similar to your proposed name. The report helps avoid conflicts with existing names and is required for name registration in most provinces.

What is a name reservation?

Name reservation is the process of securing a specific business name before completing the full business registration. A NUANS report is often used for this purpose, allowing you to reserve the name for a set period before final registration.
